Hi Michael,

I live in Austin and I've been listening to MT casts for about 2 years. I'd love to meet up.

I am interested, too. Do you guys want to "just" meet or do you mean to start a meetup with meetup.com?

Robert,

I think we should start by just meeting. Afterward, we can decide about future meetings -- structured/informal, location, etc.

Personally, I'm most interested in simply conversing with other people who take management and career growth seriously.

I live in Austin. I'd be interested in participating.

I agree that the first meeting should be informal. Now that we have a few people interested do you want to schedule a date? Here are a few questions to help us figure out the best time:

Do we want to do it during the week or weekend?

Do we want to try to do it over a meal?

Which meal?

If not a meal would we want to meet in the morning, afternoon, or evening?

What part of town?

Michael

I vote for weekday dinner. I work and live in Southwest Austin (Oak Hill), so south or central locations are the best for me.

I'm in Oak Hill as well, but perhaps something right off Mopac that's centrally located would work for people who live north.

There is a Texas Land and Cattle Company at Mopac and Bee Cave, there is El Arroyo on 5th near Mopac. I haven't been there in years, though.

I live in Round Rock so Central would be great for me. Does anybody have preferences for which night of the week?

Hi everyone!
Just moved to Austin a few months ago & wanted to know if you were going to meet again anytime soon. Thanks

Did these meetups ever start happening.  If so, how did they go?  I would like to meet and talk with other Fans about how to apply these tool.

Hello All,
I'd love to sit down with fellow manager tool or career tool fans and exchange learning experiences, etc.

If you are interested and can make it, let me know and I'll work on any necessary details.  For those interested, in something central like this but cannot make it, let me know.  I am willing to manage setting up a few of these throughout the remainder of the year.  It would be nice to get critical mass for a recurring meet up and see if we can intercept a meet up for the Austin EMC in November.
Thanks,
Jake

 Hi All,
Please let me know if you plan to attend this Tuesday.   I'll keep this post fresh with responses as I check the forums periodically this week and check for private messages to gauge the size of the group.  This is a new venue, but given the time of the year I think it makes sense to meet inside and will plan to be at the bar.

I'm sorry to have missed the last meet up, but I would love to find a local MT meet-up group, is there a future meeting in the works?

Submitted by Ronda Owen on Tuesday October 22nd, 2013 7:22 am

I live an hour and a half from the Austin area but I would be willing to travel to gain new perspective from other managers.

Submitted by Andrew Sloan on Tuesday October 22nd, 2013 10:55 am

Hey all...I'm not from Austin but I do travel there time to time.  I'll be in town next week from 28 - 31 October.  If anybody is interested in meeting up even for just a bite to eat, I'm game.

Hi All,
The next meet up coincides with the Austin EMC(link).  For those not attending that want to meet up, we are graciously able to join in for the Q&A at the end of day 1.  Please plan to meet up in the hotel lobby at 5pm.  At 5:30pm, we'll join into the Q&A.  For those attending the conference, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
The DoubleTree is pretty well located for those interested in heading out after the Q&A for dinner just down the street.

 Hi All,
For those interested, I will be meeting up with Austin visitor STEVEANDERSON tomorrow night as an added meet up for this month.  This is last minute and I'd love to chat with other listeners if this works for your schedule as well.

 Hello Austin Effective Managers,
The Austin Effective Managers Conference looked like it was a good day Tuesday.  I came in at the very end and was surprised to see Dani, the instructor, accompanied by Mark and Wendii.  The Q&A lasted until 7:30pm with a lot of good dialogue.
For those interested, I am looking to pull together a meetup for late December, the week of the 15th.  Let me know if you are interested and I'll work with schedules to fix a location, date and time.

Hello Austin Manager Tools and/or Career Tools fans,
Next Monday night we'll be pulling together one last time for the year for a meet up at Opal's.  If you can make it to this event next Monday night, let me know either by PM or forum post.
