Interview thank you note question?

Hi

In my post interview thank you note should I use the same close at the end of the note that I did in the interview? Or should I come up with a new close each time I follow up? It seems like using the same close would be a bit repetitive. But if I start changing it I don't know if I could come up with an effective close every time I follow up.

Thanks

Ron

My two cents is that if you sent a note, it could be the same or different and it would put you in the 10% or fewer people that do it. It will say volumes more than the actual words. And folks won't remember that you were a little repetitive. Do the same if its easy, or if you want to do it differently that's fine too. Sending the note itself is the big thing in my book, and makes you a standout professional!

I don't think there's anything wrong with focussing repeatedly on your core message - people need to hear things a few time to really have it sink in.
Do be mindful that the purpose of the note is to thank THEM, so you need to convey appreciation and gratitude as a first priority before you think about selling yourself.
I believe the etiquette of a thank you note includes the concept that you do not ask the person for a deliverable or a response (because, as I said, the note is all about your appreciation for what they did).    You can close by saying you will call to follow up, but not ask the thankee to call you (as an example).
