I was in a meeting the other day and I started employing the Face the Speaker actions. Since I was in the middle of a long conference table and the most active speakers were at opposite ends of the table, I was turning my body fairly often. My co-worker next to me didn't begin to mimic my actions, but rather looked at me like I was from another planet.

I personally use the 'face the speaker' when someone is going to have a enough long talk. If there is a 'quick' discussion take place, I wouldn't reccomend ...

Facing the speaker is something that I always did naturally (without realizing it). Now it drives me CRAZY when I see people not do this.

Mark's point about turning the shoulders is great as well. I've become more conscious of doing this myself as well.
