Is anybody else using the book trading websites out there? I have been trading on www.swaptree.com and have been very pleased with it. So far I have traded about 10 books. It is much easier to trade for novels and other popular books than it is for business books. I have traded for some though. So far I have traded for Freakanomics, Blink, Love is the Killer App, Managing with Power, and Winning. I just wanted to throw that option out there because it is a good way to salvage a little of the remaining value in books once I am done with them. Josh

I haven't tried them, but my cousin adores Bookmooch.

Then again, it's fiction she's after. :)

I have heard a lot of people like Bookmooch. At first glance, the site is much less user friendly and not very attractive. It does have a cool feature where you can download your amazon wishlist instead of searching for all the books you want.

... this comment perplexes me. I re-read and re-re-read books all the time. They lose no value to me just b/c I've read them.

Of course, I have to fight tooth and nail to keep family members from throwing my books away . . . so maybe it's just me

Not just you, Ron. Most books fall under the 'you can pry it from my cold dead hands' category. Others...not so much. This applies to fiction and non-fiction (my library is about equal parts of each at this point).

It really annoyed my ex-husband. He went so far during a move as to weigh the moving truck, load up just my books, then weigh it again. When I say, "I have a ton of books." I'm not kidding. Or exaggerating. Of course, that was about 12 years ago, and I'm still a book junkie.

Worse? We have a Borders Outlet nearby. I can often pick up new books (many hardback editions) for $4 or less. I find that I read a much wider variety because of this - many of the books they have in stock aren't my standard fare. It's definitely expanded what I will consider reading.

Oh...that's in addition to my well worn used book store account and my Barnes and Noble addiction.

There's Border's Outlets?!

My bank manager just fainted!

I'm a read it once, or twice sell it on Amazon kind of girl. But then I don't watch films more than once either.

Each to their own I guess.
